Review of Best Practices Related Items

"The following six principles, described in more detail below, provide fundamental guidance in designing daylit schools. 1. Prevent direct sunlight penetration into glare-sensitive teaching spaces. 2. Provide gentle, uniform light throughout space. 3. Avoid creating sources of glare. 4. Allow teachers to control the daylight with operable louvers or blinds. 5. Design the electric lighting system to complement the daylighting design, and encourage maximum energy savings through the use of lighting controls. 6. Plan the layout of interior spaces to take advantage of daylight conditions.”
